Will these coolers fit?

Hello,

Looking at getting a Midi case around an i5 2500k build. Something like this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-054-OK
with 18cm width or this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-016-FD&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat= (no width given).

The first question is really whether these two coolers http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-034-AS&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395

or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-032-AS&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395

will physically fit in those cases as their height seems to be about 14cm but I suppose I need to allow for height of standoffs/MB/fans etc.

I am also going to fit this RAM http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-300-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517 which would need to fit under the cooler.

If it is relevant, I will be using a MSI Z68A-G43 motherboard but I assume most MB follow a very similar ram next to CPU config.

Secondly, assuming that IF I overclock it would likely be "mild" (4Ghz-4.2Ghz) or I may even underclock as this machine would be working 16 hours a day as a trading platform, would I not be better off just keeping the standard retail cooler?

Thanks for your suggestions

NB

The Fractal Design Core 1000 will support coolers up to 135mm in height so the Asus Royal Knight wouldn't fit but the Asus Axe Square would.

Having said that I think that both those coolers are pretty naff (in looks and performance) which is why they're being sold cheaply.

I don't know about the OcUK case.

Why not play it safe with some low profile RAM?

Also the This Week Only offers will change tomorrow morning.

that royal knight will make a nice paperweight then...

To op, I'm guessing you like how those coolers look, but your chosen cases don't have window so whats the point of buying nice looking cpu fans.

i'll put in the usual OcUK recommendation of spending £5 more than the more expensive of the two and getting the gelid tranquillo

at 153mm tall it wont fit on the fractal. however, i can almost guarantee that it will fit in the OcUK bos case, because the OcUK bos can have a rear mounted 120mm fan, and my case cant as there is only ~115mm between the motherboard back panel and the side panel. my case could (just about) fit the gelid, so if my case can fit it the OcUK one sure could.

having said all that though, i would seriously suggest getting something a little better like the bitfenix merc alpha or the coolermaster elite 430, because you will be able to keep it for many builds to come
