Will These Get To Cas2~?

I want to get some high FSB memory but using A64 based system I need tight timings. The reason I need high FSB is to do with the way im overclocking and the dividers dont sink in place perfect so I end up with like DDR 380 or something rather than DDR400

So does anyone have any views on which memory will reach CAS 2 and what FSB is might run at.

Redline memory uses Infineon memorychips, the others use Samsung UCCC chips that do not like to run at low timings.

Are you willing to pay the massive price difference for a few percent of speed difference?

I did some quick tests last night and found the difference in 3DMark2001 is 400 points (26900 vs 26500) between 250Mhz 2.5-2-2-10 and 250Mhz 3-4-4-10

Its for video coding so yes I am willing to pay

Video coding isn't really that memory timing sensitive though: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/memory/display/2gb-ram_4.html

Then Ill just set two bios settings. One with high FSB on the memory and one with tight timings and reasonable FSB say about 225. All depending one what im using it for.

Well I managed to find some from the USA seen as OCuk didnt know anything about when stock would come in.

Have you considered the Corsair 3500LL RAM?

Most people seem to be able to keep CAS 2 anywhere up to around 230MHz and I can get mine to [email protected]. Other people can get similar timings and speed with them, they seem quite consistant

I was thinking about corsair but when I was ringing the customer line at OCuk about redline and corsair they said DFI aint that happy with corsair memory.

Anyway redline is very versitile been reading some reviews about what it can do.

Only thing that equals it is OCZ VX gold which I cant find.

I'm using a DFI Ultra-D and so is someone else I know with the same memory, no problems from either of us. I've used 3 different sets of Corsair RAM with this board and have only had problems with the BIOS the board was shipped with, think they've iron out the problems now.

Been touch an go with me so I changed to some mushkin should keep me happy for a long time yet.
