Will these RAM play nice together?

Hi, I currently have

Team Group 8Pack Edition 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit

Which I currently use the XMP profile for. Works great. But I'm looking to go to 64GB because of Flight sim 2024s requirements.

Will this play nice with what I have?

Seems to be the "same" except mine is c16 and this stuff is C18. everything else the same, even looks the same.​

The newer one doesn't say anything about Samsung b-die, so not sure what the chips they use are, or if they're single rank.

I very much doubt you'll be able to just fit them, enable XMP and forget, but you do have a modern CPU, so you never know.

are they my "best bet"? or better going with something else?

I would avoid 4 modules with Ryzen

Is it bad? My options really either 4 modules or stick with 32GB, which, for FS2024 is not recommended.

4 modules can cause system instability and quite often XMP wont work properly

Looks like the B-die version you have already has been discontinued and replaced by these ones so mixing could create some issues, the version you have does come on MM now and again so it could be worth making a wanted post to see if anyone has them going spare.

They will work with 4 DIMM modules but usually at a much slower speed - if you look at the motherboard manual, it will tell you what speed the RAM will run at with 2 and 4 DIMM slots populated.



Don’t mix and match RAM, just get 2 larger DIMM modules of the same type as the upgrade.

OK, noted. I'll look to get 2x 32GB modules. A fair expense annoyingly for DDR4 but I guess this chipset is going to see me out till 2026 when I next ugrade it. (New GPU next year).

I'm unfamiliar with the hardware technicalities of RAM these days. Just looking for ideally similar speeds but 64GB worth for a fair price. This seems a good deal.
