Guy at work is set on buying a sonus sound bar because he already has sonus kit in his house and wants to use the same apps with it all.

I am abit out of touch with the new kit now that everything is networked. From what i can see i can't see how the bluray player he has selected is going to be able to play sound through the sonus soundbar. He wants to know what TV and bluray player will he need to buy so that he can play the bluray sound through the sonus sound bar.

I suggested that he would need a tv that has an optical output because the sonus only has an optical input outside of the network ports. The bluray will connect to the TV with a hdmi cable.

Ok thanks a lot. the john lewis website did not mention the optical out, i looked up the model on panasonic website and it shows optical output.
