Will this amp do?

About to recieve my Dt770 pro 80ohm any day now - and have a budget of £70 for an amp..... would the Project Headbox Mk2 be my best bet?

is there any reason you'd steer clear of the Headbox I mentioned? I'm not that bothered about portability as the need for batteries kind of puts me off a bit. I'm only going to use it in the house anyway so don't want it for travelling etc.

I use a Project Head Box II and have found it to be quite excellent driving my Sennheiser HD555's.

Definately an improvement over the X-Fi's headphone output.

Think i paid just over £50 for it a few months back.

Let us know how you like that setup. I used to have a pair of those headphones (250Ohm's though), and wished I bought an amp.

Will do... although I was gonna wait and try out the 'phones first, due to my impetuous, boyish excitement, I've just ordered the Project Headbox.....

I've got no experience of 770s, but if they're anything like the 880s that I have, you'll be revisiting your entire music collection with a broad grin. Have fun!
