Will the Titan Fenrir Evo CPU block any ram slots on the MSI P67A-GD53?

If so, can anyone recommend a decent cooler in it's place. Preferably one that is aesthetically pleasing to look at. Looked at the corsair A50 etc. Just a bit on the plain side.

Cheers.

"Be careful if your thinking of using this with a MSI GD65, There is only one way to fit it otherwise you will block off the first 2 memory slots!"

Pasted from a customer review on the product page, the GD65 is the same size as the GD53 I believe.

The mounts for socket 1156/55 are "square" so you can turn it any direction you want.

Use RAM without those silly heatsinks.

Would that one way be the correct way I wonder?

Can you recommend me a decent cooler then. It will be used to overclock a 2500k. Around the same price would good. Cheaper if possible, or a couple of quid more if needed.

Thanks

Ahh. Excellent!

I always avoid the heat spreaders. Very gimmicky.

Just to keep everyone in the picture. It's a build for a friend. He has £500 to spend.

He already has an Antec 750W PSU and a GTX 285... housed in an OEM PC

I've recommended he upgrade to the 2500k, haf 912 case, the mobo in question, the cheapest 1600Mhz ram on offer. Sell his gtx 285 and get himself a 6950.

How does that sound to everyone?

Primary uses are gaming. World of Warcraft mainly.

Sounds great, search for my last thread I started to see a Titan Fenrir and silly tall Dominator RAM, lower ram would clear.

Excellent. Looks like that's a plan.

He will be using the hard drive he got with his OEM PC, would this be worth upgrading or just keeping. It's a 500GB. Would load times be greatly increased with adding an F3 into it. Is it worth the hassle, bearing in mind the budget is tight?

Cheers,

Keep the HDD, a F3/Barracuda7200.11,12 will be faster but not enough to warrant the expense and even then you may need a benchmark program to see the difference.
