been away for a while so my rig is needing an upgrade
im looking at this mostly for play Graw

PowerColor ATI Radeon X1950 Pro Extreme SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 VIVO HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (£155.09)

Intel Core 2 DUO LGA775 E6300 1.86GHz Retail / Gigabyte 965P DS3 / 1GB GeIL PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Kit - Bundle (£318.39)

Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming case (£72.84)

would my sata drives be ok with this ? as ive seen sata 2 mentioned?

would i need a cpu cooler not sure if 1 comes with cpu if so which would you suggest?

any other help would be great

Your existing SATA drives should work fine, the motherboard ports should auto-adjust for the slower drives (possibly a bios option needs to be set but I don't have a SATA II capable motherboard to check on currently). The CPU is retail so already comes with a cooler, if you want to overclock significantly then you might want to consider an aftermarket one otherwise it should be fine as it is. Do you already have all the other parts including PSU etc? :)

On the DS3, my SATA-I drive worked fine with it. The bios revision was F5 when I copied my old data over onto my new SATA-II hard drive.

thanks waster

If you can afford to get 2gb as 2x1gb sticks instead of just buying that bundle and another 2x512mb then yes I'd recommend it, I know that it doesn't matter for Conroe if you have 4 sticks of Ram but it allows more room for expansion if you only use 2 slots plus it is less to go wrong. The 2gb kit of Geil PC6400 would be fine for use with the motherboard.

As long as the PSU is decent then you should have everything you need. :)
