Will this build be sufficient?

Hi everyone, been looking at this forum for a while now but only just got around to registering (by the way the anti-spam measures when joining are by far the most difficult to read that I have ever seen!).
Anyway about my build. I need it to perform well as a home theater pc, so I would like it to be fairly quiet, however I know performance comes with the disadvantage of fan noise, but a good balance is ideal. I also want to be able to play the odd high spec game, on highest settings preferably. Coming from an xbox, I do not mind paying a premium price tag as long as the graphics are noticeably better. Here is what I am planning on buying:
Budget is £760 absolute max.

Case:
Phantom NZXT £110
Perhaps a little expensive given the budget of my build, but it is always nice to have your £700+ represented by a cool case, and I can use it for years.

Motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H 890GX £100

CPU:
AMD 1090 black edition
Would have liked to save a little money here with the 1055 but I want the unlocked multiplier of the black edition for easy overclocking in the future.

RAM:
G Skill Ripjaws 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333mhz Cas9 Dual Channel Memory £70

GPU:
XFX ati 6870 £175. Read it was the a pretty quiet graphics card. Was going to get a 6850 but the extra £25 seems worth it. Will most likely buy another for crossfire in a couple of months.

HDD:
Samsung spinpoint F3 1tb £40
Bit of a no-brainer

PSU:
Corsair tx750 £90
I have been told that it is quiet, efficient and of high build quality. Also wanted to save some doll-hairs here, but in the long run it is worth having a good brand psu.

All that comes to £760 which is the most I can spend.

Future upgrades will be:
Most likely another 6870 for crossfire. Might try overclocking it first to see if one can be good enough.
Noctua DH-14 cpu cooler for when the time comes to over clock :)
26" 2000(?) x 1200 monitor for dual screen and some lush gaming visuals. Already have a 23" 1080p which is good but dual screen is important to me when using the pc ie not for gaming.
SSD drive
Another 1tb hd (plus possibly another for RAID)
The soonest upgrades will be a dual tv tuner and a bluray player so it can be a true HTPC.

I would just like to know if there is anything bottlenecking the build, or if there was anywhere that I could perhaps save some money (not essential but would be quite nice, although I doubt there is with the performance im after)
Any compatability issues?

Finally, is this a good build for the money?!?

Thanks in advance for your help
(and it wont be the first time these forums have helped even though this is my first post)

Just noticed all the links being censored. Ahhhh. Fair enough though.
Case: Phantom NZXT
Motherboard is £100 gigabyte crossfire x8 x8.
RAM: 8gb ddr3 1333mhz
PSU: Corsair TX 750

Hi and welcome to the forum. :) Just a quick rule, you cant link to competitors. Make a new post or edit this one where you list the components, or make it so that the products are linked on OcUK and we will be able to help you :)

Hi, and welcome to the forums. Take the time to read the FAQ's or your time with us will be short. There is no mentioning of competitors on this forum and definately no linking to them.

This. The case is very quiet. The i5 will be much much better than any AMD processor right now.

That looks like a nice build DFP, but I prefer to buy AMD, not just because I have mainly bought them in the past, but because I just don't think the 'intel premium' is worth paying, even sandybridge.
Links are gone btw, my bad.
Realistically what advantages would I see if i switched to 1600mhz RAM?

Don't get an i5. AMD all the way imho :)

Nice build, but have you considered a different case, such as the INWIN Griffin?

Looks great, and at only £45 with 520W PSU on everyone's favourite auction site, it's nice for the money.

Changed the spec including a psu for possible xfire later on. And that case probably comes with a cheapo powersupply, which will definately not manage two 6870s well. I strongly suggest going i5. The i5 2400 k in itself is better than any amd processor out at the moment.

Cant say I like the look of that case and I cant imagine that PSU would last very long.
What makes you so convinced that i5s are so much better, what justifies the price gap? Heard theres a few problems with the sandybridges. In my opinion, naming a processor after a bridge made out of sand doesn't shout reliability :D
If there was a serious advantage with getting an i5 than I would consider one.

Sandy bridge is a code name and I always imagined it as a bridge filled with sand so you could walk on it bear feet smoothly. Also the retail name is 2nd gen

there is as everyone has said the i5 is better than any AMD and if you are going with AMD wait till AMD3+ is on the market.
Just do some reviews on i5 compaire to AMD 1090 black edition for performance..

Good luck with what ever you choose hope the build gose well

Benchmarks look very good, although I cant imagine I would see a difference in games. Would a 1090t bottleneck two 6870s in xfire? I'll have a think about the 2500k but I would have to sacrifice the case, and im not sure that I would want to as it looks so damn good. Any fans of the phantom no? Quite annoying the way intel changes chipsets like the weather.

Gives you the option of overclocking if you decide to

E: Perhaps look for a case that's quieter, not too sure on how loud the cm690 is...
