Yea should work fine JamJar, could always make it cheaper by going for the OCZ memory that's on offer but what you've picked out so far is quite good.

yes my mates got the OCZ memory in his p.c and it runs like a dream ,would this run ok with an Asus Motherboard ,or does most memory run with any board ? :confused:
 
Memory runs with any board depending whether its DDR/DDR2 etc

With a board that decent and also good RAM you could go for the E6300 then just set the FSB at 400 - giving you E6600 speeds straight away
 
ive done the set fsb but mines at 432 giving me 3.2 i can get 3.5 stable on air
just cant overclock my ram as the bored am using don't like it so ive just orderd a new bfg 680i
