Will this cooler be fine with a 11900k?

I’d just like some confirmation that a BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler will be fine with the new 11900k? I’ve seen it used with 10900k in a few other builds and it did it’s job well.

What do you think?

Hard to tell. No reviews yet but early indications are it will run hotter. If this cooler isnt up to the task then there won't be many alternatives. My gut feeling is that it will struggle under load.

Had a DR Pro for years with good airflow case, so the answer is yes, unless you want to stuff a lot of volts into OC'd 11900k? Its bound to run hot.

I’ll be mainly gaming on this pc. 11900k, 3090, 32GB of 3200 ram (if faster stuff is worth the upgrade I may do that later) and fast pcie4 M2 drive. Ultra wide and Reverb G2.
I may OC the cpu if needed later but almost certainly not the gpu.

From what I've seen the 11700 is a bit more power hungry than the 10700, except under AVX-512 load (where it's a lot), so in theory if the cooler can handle a 10-core 10900 it should be alright with the 8-core 11900.

For Rocketlake you'd be better off using an external unit to combat it's insane temps, like...

Haha, let’s hope it doesn’t come to this!

Once the cpu arrives it’s build time, then we’ll see how it fares.

These are the components for those interested.

Be Quiet Pure Base 500DX black case
Corsair RM850x psu
Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 cooler
11900K
RTX 3090 FE
Samsung 980 Pro 1TB M2 PCIe4
Sabrent Rocket 2TB M2 PCIe3
Asus Rog Strix Z590-E
Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 X2

This will hopefully last me 4 or 5 years like my trusty 6700k build has.
