I think you may struggle,

The RAM is 41mm tall,

This thread has a picture of it over some low profile (though GSkll) RAM, it just fits.

IIRC the DIMMS are quite close the CPU socket too.. SO the affects may be worse than most

I'm guessing I may need to return the mother board and pay extra for the Extreme

Not sure how returning stuff with OcUK goes, if I try and it doesn't fit can I return it or does it have to be unopened?

Im pretty sure you can return under DSR if its opened and even tested. Best to check with CS on that though.

Why not just change you're cooler? For an AIO?

Is it possible to return the cooler instead as that seems like an easier option?

Then find a cooler that clears tall ram (I can think of two of the top of my head) or use a AIO water cooler.

Ok cool, I did have the extreme before and loved that board and kind of wish I had spent the extra to get it.

THe Archon SB-E, is one cooler i can think of.. I not sure of the other stulid is thinking of..

As for AIO's look at the H80/H100 or Kuhler Range, The fitment on these depends on your case.

I haven't checked but I actually managed to fit the original one over the ram, I kid you not there is maybe half a mm gap but it fits and the cooling is amazing

you can swap the blocking fan for a 120mm one and simply slide it further up the cooler, or if you have a massive case you can slide up the 140mm fan.
*this only works if they're held on with little hooks like on the phantek cooler*
