You realise that there's only a limited amount you can do to overclock the i5-2400 on a H67 motherboard?

For real overclocking with Sandybridge you want a 2500K processor, with an unlocked mulitiplier, and a P67 or Z68 motherboard.

The 2500K will usually overclock to 4.5GHz without too much difficulty.

How about something like this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £161.99
1 x Asus P8P67 LE Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION ** *LOWEST UK PRICE* £68.98
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £49.99
Total : £292.36 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Is much better than your original spec, and will allow you to overclock properly. With a non 'K' chip, overclocking is very limited and you probably will not notice a big performance increase.

If you use the PC for gaming you could go for 4GB of RAM because all games still use 32-bit architecture and will for a long time.

A lot of mATX boards have 2 memory slots due to their small size.

Oh yeah of course

That looks much better thanks, and yeah if I can get the funds to upgrade, I might just get 4gb as Ive had 8gb on current pc for about 3yrs and I very rarely go over 4gb

Remember changing the BCLK on a SB chip is minimal. The range is probably about 99-105. All overclocking is done by the multiplier and so, like olivier said, any memory is fine.

I believe Surveryor has a link to an article which explains how memory speed and timings make very little difference with Sandy Bridge.

what the hell is BCLK, as Im out of the loop of the new tech that boards use nowadays, as it says the i5 dosent like BCLK, so can you disable it?

Its the Base Clock (what use to be the FSB) its default is 100mhz with Sandybridge.

so for a 3.3ghz i5 2500K, its 100 X 33 (multiplier) = 3300mhz.

To get 4ghz just change the multiplier to 40 without touching the BCLK.

Im deffo going to be upgrading in a few weeks now, and I might have a buyer for old pc, but he isnt having my gpu or hdds/ssd. Anyway Im getting ichy feet now, so I thought Id put my basket up on here and see what you think. I think I can afford a better cpu cooler, so hows the "Be Quiet"? Also has the motherboard got a good cpu fan profile in the bios thats fully adjustable?

Nice, is Black and Grey the theme you are going for? The bequiet gets good reviews.

I dont know about the fan profile but there maybe a windows based tool that can alter the RPM at varying temps.

A bit like this, you just move the two colour balls to change the profile.

Ah yeah I could use a window based fan profile if the bios profile is rubbish, thanks.

Yeah Im trying to keep the black theme and notice Ive picked a dvd drive, that's got similar writing to the case.. A tad sad I know.
