Hi all, atm, i've got a Q6600 and 4gb (2x2gb) of PC2-3200 RAM, running happily away, just managed to find 2 x 1gb sticks of PC2-5300. Now will the fact that i'm adding another 2 x 1gb sticks into it cause any problems? Or will it run happily as 6gb (as long as I set the RAM to run at DDR400 speeds (and have 64bit OS installed ;))

I have 2x2, and 2x1 for a total of 6Gig and it works fine, overclocks just fine, and performs just fine.

Just remember to make sure that you install the sticks so that the pairs are matched with the channels

IE
Channel 1, 1st stick 2Gb, 2nd stick 1Gb
Channel 2, 1st stick 2Gb, 2nd stick 1Gb.

In my motherboard that simply means slots 0 and 2 are 2Gb sticks, and 1 and 3 have the 1Gb sticks. Doing it like this makes sure dual channel is working :).
