will this hdd and ram work with motherboard

I am about to buy a Seagate barracuda Internal 500gb 7200 rpm 3.5 ST500DM002 HDD and Ddr3 2x4gb ram Avexir Core series

Would both of these be OK with a n68gc fx motherboard? I have a am3 motherboard

Also should I get 2.5 or 3.5 HDD? Thanks
