Will this memory work with this mobo +cpu?

I'm building my dad a cheapish pc he wants it to surf the web and to load some photos up on it nohing much than that to be fair.

I ahve some GeIL 1GB PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS2.5 From an old build of mine i was wondering ill it work in a Asrock AM2NF3-VSTA (Socket AM2) AGP DDR2 Motherboard with a AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail ok?

Doesn't look like it, the ram you have is DDR1, you need DDR2 for any am2 socket board.

Ah really, I'll double check when i get home from work i know the Ram in the old system has a old amd64 on a ABIT KV8-MAX3 socket 754.

Thinking about it i think it is DDR now :(
 
What components have you purchased already?

An Asrock Quad-Vsta with support for DDR, DDR2, AGP, PCI-E, 2xIDE and SATA harddrives is only around £40. Throw in an insanely cheap E4300 allendale cpu and you have yourself a very nice system for doing most things and he can upgrade it if he wants in the future.
