Will this memory work?

While phoning today regarding an RMA I'm putting through the issue of memory arose, though turned out not to be relevant to my problem, however it did make go home a look at what I had bought and now I'm worried.

I have a Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H (well will have after my RMA replacement comes). On reading the manual online it says that it takes 1.5V memory.

I have:

Which is rated at 1.6V (according to the actual memory sticks I have however the website says 1.65V).

Will it work?

I have the GA-MA770T-UD3, with the same RAM. The online manual for my mobo also states that it supports 1.5v DIMMs.

Mine works perfectly well - in fact, until I saw your post it never even occurred to me to check what voltage the mobo supported.

I did find, when I went into the BIOS to check the memory timings and speed, that the voltage was set at 1.5v and so I increased it to 1.6v myself at the same time as changing the other bits. No problems at all.

So yes, it will work!

I used my rig for a day, including some Battlefield and plenty of downloading/installing, before bothering to tinker with my BIOS - it didn't even blink. So I reckon you're safe with it.

It most probably will as it would default to stock speeds ~ 1333mhz.

The op will need to manually adjust speed and timings.

If you're struggling when the time comes, Doyler, drop me a line (does PM work here? if not, just post again in this thread and I'll see it when it bumps to the top) 'cos it'll be near identical process for mine and your systems, and I only learned it myself last week.

Dead easy though, follow-yer-nose stuff.
