¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ok, I'm upgrading from socket A, so I'm not really up to speed with this C2D stuff...

Here's what I'm thinking of ordering:

Gigabyte GA_P35C_DS3R (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 & DDR3 Motherboard £81.99
Intel Core 2 Duo E2140 "LGA775 Conroe" 1.60GHz (800FSB) - Retail £49.99
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)

Now, I'm hoping I can get this ram up 1000mhz, even if I have to loosen the timings. Is this possible?

Also, my current rig is watercooled... So, I'm tempted to get a waterblock for this setup, as I doubt my LRWW will fit.

What's a good block for these dual cores? 3GHz would be nice, but 3.5 or 4Ghz would be nicer. :) I'm running 1/2" piping btw.

Tbh, I would rather pay the extra and have the Crucial memory (5300 stuff). I've had mine over 1000 @ 4.4.4.10.

The rest seems okay, but I got to admit, I've not tried the 2140 chip, but I have giving the 2160 a glance, and tempted to try one.

Good luck though.

That cruicial stuff does look good... If it hits 1000mhz, then I'll be more than happy. :) For an extra £25 or so, it should be worth it.

That other motherboard also looks good, but I think I may go with the cheaper one... I've got a big box of heatsinks that I can glue on any bits that get too hot. :D
