Hi guys,

Current specs.

E6750 2.66GHz - 2GB DDR2 - 8400GS GFX card running at a res of 1440X900

Thinking of getting 4GB DDR2 when I get some more cash.

Would this PC play WoW?

Cheers

Yes, will have to turn setting down, but will be fine.

I am currently running it on a P4 @ 1920x1200 with 2GB RAM and ATI 1950, not blinding performance but all fine except 25 man raids get a bit choppy.

I run at 1900x1200 on a 3850 512mb and get decent performance on high but with shadows turned down so a 4850 will murder it at that resolution.

Great stuff. Even with 2GB RAM on Win 7 though?

Also, does anyone know of any decent mirrors to download the client? I chucked my WoW disks out a long while ago.

blizzard have download links when you log into account management. That is probably the fastest and safest way to download the game. 2gb will run it fine but would suggest 3 if you are using vista or win 7.

Because of the style of WoW graphics (hardly photorealistic) you can turn the graphics options down quite low without making the game look horrible.

It is surprisingly tolerant of hardware specs. Although the new patch has changed this somewhat.

Yeah WOLK moved from 2Gb to 3gb for populated areas, outside them you will be fine with 2gb though.

WOW loves a bit of extra CPU power, see if you can get even a moderate overclock, every bit helps I found.

And re graphics just wack the nice to haves down, stuff like shadows, high detailed textures etc, you hardly notice them anyway when your playing
