Hello

I am running the following spec as a my media pc

AMD 3500+ at stock with stock cooler
4* 256mb DDR ram
1 250gb Sata hdd
1 80gb IDE HDD
1 dvd drive
128mb geforce 6800le
2 silent fans
A8V deluxe motherboard

I'm worried about using a generic 500w supply on this because it only has 19A on the 12V.

I haven't had any serious problems except some CMOS check sum errors on cold boots and Vistas power saving modes seem to crash the computer.

I'm thinking the PSU is to blame here right?

I presume a good brand 400W+ should be plenty for it?

Yup.

If you're going to be using the media PC often then I'd be binning the generic anyway as it'll be ridiculously inefficient and probably noisier than it needs to be!

I've noticed a Coolermaster Igreen 500W at a competitor for £52 which is about my budget

Seems to have good reviews!

Enermax Liberty 400W is also tempting at OCUK as its modular which would be better

The liberty should run that system no problem.

I'd pick the Enermax out of the 2 you listed.

Im leaning towards the coolermaster atm because the competitor in question is cheaper than OC for these bits of hardware but I may be swayed for the sake of a tenner.

I have still to use the new overclockers website so I might just use them then,
