Hi guys, im about to buy a corsair CX500w ATX power supply and would like to know if i will have enough connectors for my components.

CIT Invader Case

AMD A8-7670K 4.2GHz Quad Core CPu

Gigabyte F2A78M-HD2 AMD Socket FM2+ Motherboard

Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 Ram

1TB SEAGATE BARACUDA SATA3

24X DVD-RW Optical Drive

ALSO im considering getting a Rx480 Amd graphics card so please let me know if i will have enough connectors from the Psu. Thanks :)

Don't buy the CX500. The CX series are built down to a price and have poor quality internals. At £50 it's also very overpriced for what it is. The XFX XT 500w is a better unit with a stronger 12v rail and is built by Seasonic. There is not much else within that price bracket that is worth considering.

That is the dodgy XFX unit which is made by Shenzhen Rui Sheng Yuan Technology. Only the design is Seasonic. Probably not much better than the CX to be honest.

Buy the best one you can afford, don't scrimp on a PSU it will only bring you heartache :)

Best to have too much power available than buy a cheapo.

I've got an HX550W and it's a great PSU for the money. At that price-point it's a choice between that unit and the Antec Truepower Classic 550W, which is a Seasonic unit.

550W is good enough for any single card setup and is what I would get. 450W might be cutting it close.

A score of 8.4/10 is pretty poor to mediocre these days. I wouldn't touch a psu that scores less than 9/10 and ideally my next will be above 9.5/10. You can get a top quality psu for not a lot of money these days. They are probably the best bang for buck component in a pc and I certainly don't see the point in skimping on the single most important component that you will buy for a pc.

I totally agree, just the OP stated he didn't want to spend loads on a PSU. Ofcourse you should, but these 9.5/10 rated psu's often aren't tremendously cheap.
