Will this PSU be ok for all this stuff?

Will a 580W Hiper HPU-4M580 be ok, are there any known prob's with it? it will be running a x2 4600 @2.6ghz, 2gb ram, 2hd's,2 opticals, a 7900GTX and a x-fi soundcard. and do the arctic64 freezer pro's, come with thermal paste with them? and how do you get rid of the old thermal paste?

Yes, will be fine. No problems as far as I know.

They come with paste (which is good actually). Remove the old stuff with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth. Or another fast evaporating solvent of your choice.

Go for a 500W model by Enermax, Tagan or Seasonic.

Of course Seasonic or Enermax would be better, but they are more costly.

Enermax are excellent. Got a liberty atm, very quiet, good solid psu.

If you value your rig don't get a Hiper!! Spend a little more and get a decent brand of psu such as those already mentioned plus,

FSP Sparkle Blue Storm 2 500W ATX2.0 PSU

OCZ ModStream 520w ATX2.2 Power Supply

Akasa Ultra Quiet 500W Paxpower Active PFC ATX2.2 PSU - Black Nickel.

Vote for the Enermax Liberty 500W PSU here, I've got one and I'm pretty chuffed with it, it's reasonably quiet too. Depends what you're willing to spend I guess, just try and avoid the Hiper ones!

They seem to quit out around the 12 - 14 month mark. As for a psu, i vote Corsair!! Very very solid!

corsairs are basically seasonics psu's - highly recommended everywhere and you really cant go wrong but they do command a pricetag. best thing about them is the 5 year warrenty which is obscenely good!

im running an enermax 350watt and have been for a loooong while, its unbreakable, get generaly hammered, and hardley ever turned off. i wouldd rate the Enermax highly

I currently use a Hiper Type-R 580W & never had any problems with it (fingers crossed).

I have been thinking of getting another PSU for a while now, I am considering the OCZ GameXStream 600W. is this any good? What do you people think of it??
