Ive ordered most of the parts to my computer, i did ask for advice on here first, but im just wondering whether my psu will actually be able to support my computer (i dont have a clue about what parts use what watts, all i know is that my CPU is 125 W (amd phenom ii x4 955 ) )

AMD phenom ii x4 955 3.2ghz
asus GTX460
4GB corsair ram xms3
Corsair CX 500w psu

will my psu support that ? If you need more info about other parts then just say :)

i'll mainly be playing light games (nothing stressful like crysis of bf:bc, but for long periods of time)

also a question, im going to buy an anti static wrist strap when i build, and do you connect the crocodile clip to the case? or another earthed object? (may seem obvious but if you connect to case surely parts can still be fried?)

PSU will be spot on for your system.

Your computer case will only be earthed if the PSU is installed, and plugged into the mains (doesn't have to be switched on). Other earth points can be the copper pipes (not painted parts) of a radiator.

Personally I've never used an anti static wrist strap, I always just touched the radiator pipe now and again between handling when building a new system.

ok thank you for the replies, so would it be a good idea to fit PSU first ?
