Hi there,

Got my Seasonic S12 in the post today: 430W, 29a (dual rails).

Will it be ok for the following spec:

Opteron 165
X1900XT
2x 512mb sticks of ram
2x hdd
1x optical.

Only reason i ask is that my Hiper 580W 38a (dual rails) went pop on the same spec.

Thanks.

Hiper's go pop no matter what the spec. Just do a search. I would have thought you should be ok. Seasonic's are much better quality than Hipers with a stronger 12v rail.

My Hiper modular 580w thing is on it's way out. I couldn't start the PC just now, the main fan in the Hiper span up and made a funny noise, and nothing else would happen. My PC is a little less demanding than yours too!

Yay, more expense!

So....yeah...without turning this into another Hiper bashing thread....the PSUs ok for that spec? - I haven't actually had a straight answer yet :p

Thanks.

Providing you're not overclocking it absolutely to within a micron of it's life, then it'll be fine.

I'm thinking perhaps a 430w for myself.

I have a 500W version of the same PSU with a similar spec (X2 4400, X1900XT, A8N-E, 3x HDD, 1x Optical) and its super. Only drawback is it isn't modular.

New rig soon anyway :)
