been looking at this ram as its on other and the speed means that in the future if i do get a knew motherboard it will be able to obtain faster speeds.

at the moment i have some crucial value stuff which i guess gets the jobs done but doesnt open me up to any overclocking.

my motherboard supports these speeds for ram: DDR2 667/533/400 memory

but im not hundred percent sure that it will work in my mobo since the ram i want in question is rated at 1066MHz and according to my mobo manual-website iit only allows for a max of 667mhz speed.

Ive heard that ddr2 ram is backwards compatable but again i am not completely sure.

anyone help me out ?

Which motherboard do you have? The Balllistix needs 2.2v and a lot of boards can't supply that.

right having a look around bios and manual - though that wasnt helpful at all as all it said was 1.8v. anyway in bios it is currently set at 1.9v. and i can increase it . it has a little helpful chart thing saying when like it is highlighted grey it is at default , when it is white it is something else and when its yellow the ram is on high performance settings and when it is red it says the system could be unstable.

now according to this i can put my voltage for my ram up to 2.1v and it would be on the high performance settings (yellow) , however when i push it up to 2.2v it goes into the red a apparantly that could make the system unstable. (though i dont really know how much to trust this unless it is just a guideline).

so it should work then , great but why does it say it need 2.2v ? is there anything ill miss out on ? (lol not very good with ram tbh)
