Yes, you don't need a huge power psu I watched a vid once and a guy ran 3 4870X2's, Q9550 @ 4.2Ghz, 8Gb Ram at 756Watt peak.

yeah, but the manufacturers have to cover their rear ends, so they deliberately overestimate usage.

600W is more than enough.

My seasonic 600w has had no probs at all so should be fine
