Hi. I need to upgrade the insides of my pc. I need it for Autocad mainly, some photoshop and other architect stuff that's graphic sintensive but not really much 3D. have about £400, and have a case with a really good powersupply already, screen, keybaord and mouse.

My main question is are the mobo, cpu and memory going to all work at 1333 fsb? or have i got the wrong idea? and if there's anything i can downgrade that won't make much difference performance wise that would be even better.

Any help is appreciated.

Here's what I have so far:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail £126.99

Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £77.99

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Dual Channel (OCZ3P13334GK) £70.99

Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) £68.99

Gainward GeForce 9800 GT Green Edition 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card £62.99

Sub Total : £354.74
Shipping : £9.50
VAT is being charged at 15.00% VAT : £54.64
Total : £418.88

and why can't I upload an attachment?

No that wont work as your using ddr3 with a ddr2 motherboard!.. You do know you can get a am3 or i5 setup with that kind of money.... Which will be a lot quicker

Thank god i thought to ask.

what about this one then:
Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - Retail £154.99

Gigabyte GA-P55-US3L Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard £78.99

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Dual Channel (OCZ3P13334GK) £70.99

Gainward GeForce 9800 GT Green Edition 512MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card £62.99

Sub Total : £319.96
Shipping : £9.50
VAT is being charged at 15.00% VAT : £49.42
Total : £378.88

Only problem is the mobo and memory are out of stock but would that system be faster than the first one?? i don't know how much difference raw processing power makes. surely it's all down to the graphics card with autocad?

reason i want to stick with intel is osx compatibility so AMD is a no-go.

and biz kid -where is that memory i can't seem to find anything over 2000mhz on ocuk.
