New computer time :) never built my own so wanted some advice. Looking for a small form factor machine and have made the following list:

Bitfenix Phenom mini-itx
Intel i7-4790k
A mini-itx motherboard of some sort (advice of a good overclockable one?)
8gb of ddr3 ram, nothing flashy but a good brand like corsair or Kingston
240gb SSD
OC tech labs AIO cpu cooler.

This leaves me a few components I don't know.

First off, the PSU, will 550-650w be suitable (GPU dependant...)
Secondly, what fans in which locations? I'd like a big 240mm front fan (I like bug fans just for their looks!)
Thirdly, and most importantly, what graphics card? I'm split with going for a more budget R9 280X or a GTX970. I play a few games, skyrim, diabolo, early assassins creeds (I'd like to play unity possibly) at 2560x1440, so whilst I think the 280 will work now I'd like it relatively future proof. Any suggestions what to go for?

Thanks

Thanks Shivy.

I thought the 970 might be worth it. This (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-039-IN&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1010) looks perfect but I'm not sure it'll fit the case, says triple slot, but depends which side that extra slot sits, if it's fan side it certainly wont fit the mini-itx. Something like this might be a better option? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-356-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1010

The 280x is a good deal cheaper than the 970, I was wondering if the i5-4690k (overclocked) will be a disadvantage for me as I do a fair amount of photoshop and illustrator? Is the i7 worth the extra cash that I could perhaps put into the GPU?

Modular PSU is idea as I'd like to run custom cables, I'm a stickler for colours and neat cable runs. 550w seems to be enough.

I was considering this AIO http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-110-TL&groupid=962&catid=1532 perhaps I'll just get 2x 120mm fans for this and use the stock 120mm for case exhaust and a 200-230mm fan for the front intake? A custom water loop would be brilliant but I think it's a bit of a big step for a "first build".

Just to note, I'll be modding the case side panels with two-way mirrors and lighting the inside with LED's which should look very cool, hence the worry for colour coordination ;)

So the i5-4690k overclocked and the 970 is the way to go? How about with light video editing? I'm moving up from an i7-2630QM in my laptop, so anything should be an improvement!

Don't really understand 2x static pressure and the like, but if you're saying two of the mentioned fans on the 240mm rad, a 200mm on the front and 120mm at the rear, it should be good?

How does the Phenom cool? Not much intake at the front, I'm a little concerned about GPU noise if the fan is running high a lot, I assume the itx GPU's must be a little conservative on fan power comparison to a full size card?

Just to throw a spanner in the works, how about the R9 290? The Powercolor 290 gets good write ups and is a mid-way point in price, would it play 1440p with good settings? Or should I stop being a tight-arse and buy the 970?

I only saw the deal today hence why I was in a hurry to ask if everything I wanted will fit in. I'm going to go ahead with the case order (it'll have a few weeks of modding first) before I buy the gear to go in.

Gigabyte was my first choice for motherboard, but the Asrock is blue. At least the Avexir RAM has blue LEDs, this will make up for it.
