Hi
I am thinking of setting up local IIS server for personal use, no one is gonna access it from "outside".
Do you reckon the following machine will be enough?

Gigabyte GA-945GCMX-S2
1015 MB (DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM)
Intel Pentium E2140, 1600 MHz (8 x 200)
Disk Drive (80 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II)

If so, on what operating system I best Install the IIS (latest, ver 7 i think) server on?

Thank you

Cheers,
Do I need to run it on a server OS (e.g 2003/2008) or I can get it to run on XP/vista as well?

Check this, but I'm pretty sure you need XP Pro, Vista Business or Vista Ultimate for IIS. There is a limitation of the number of connections, but it's fine for testing.

If you're the only person who'll be accessing it, you might want to look a using Innotek Virtual Box or VMWare server to create a virtual PC.
