Will this memory kit work with a ASUS STRIX X99 Motherboard?

This is a dual Chanel memory kit but I will purchase 2 packs, 4 sticks at 8gb gb each, that will make it quad channel right?

I need 100% certainty that this memory, buying 2 packs, 4 sticks, will the RGB element work with my X99 Strix mother board?

the X99 strix motherboard has AURA RGB, will this work with the memory kit below?

I AM LOOKING FOR RGB DDR4 MEMORY FOR MY X99 STRIX MOBO, PLEASE ADVISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quad will work yes, but not sure about RGB compatibility with that board. Should in theory be fine.

has anyone successfully installed any type of RGB memory modules on an X99 board and controlled the RGB element via software?

I know the newer Z270 and X299 mobos work but the X99 is old now.

Yes, I run G.SKILL F4-3600C16Q-32GTZR kit on my board and it can be controlled by the G.Skill software. You need to enable the SPD option for it to work on X99.

Asus guide can be found here and software here

are mate you are a legend, this is very good news for X99 owners who want RGB memory kits without having to upgrade

Now which memory kit are you using? because RGB memory kits are always DUAL Channel kits so im thinking i will have to purchase 2 dual channel kits to make it quad channel for the X99 motherboards, yes?

I will check and see what OCUK have in stock and I will let you know which kit I like, there are many variations I believe....

Be careful because controlling the RGB via the SPD has been corrupting the SPD for a lot of people, and in some cases bricking the ram.

ive noticed on the corsair ddr4 rgb memory kits its states the rgb function is compatible with ALL ddr4 systems, i suppose thats not true then.

No idea how the Corsair stuff controls the RGB, but the Trident Z is tied to the SPD of the RAM. Every time you change the RGB settings it rewrites the SPD and in a lot of cases has led to corruption or dead RAM. That's with both the G Skill software and the Asus software.

ahh i see

I dont want to buy and then be met with problems especially hardware issues, I might just have to wait till I upgrade to x299 in the next 6 years or 6 months if I get the urge,

The Corsair Vengeance RGB memory has been installed on X99 builds we've done in the past. You need to be sure that "SPD Write" is enabled in the BIOS. The LED's can be controlled through the Corsair Link software, along with other Corsair RGB components like the Commander Pro, Lighting Node Pro, and some of our coolers.
