Hi guys

I'm just checking if anyone knew if the Samsung S27B970D will still support it's full res if connected to an av receiver.

At the moment my setup is as follows:

ATI 5850 (HDMI) > ONKYO SR605 (HDMI) > SAMSUNG P2770HD (HDMI)

Now this works fine on a 1920 x 1080 res but the Samsung S27B970D has a res of 2560 x 1440.

Has anyone tried this out?

Thanks

Look in your manual and it will tell you what the max res it supports is. TBH I doubt it but you may be lucky!

OK So i've done a bit of research. The monitor supports HDMI 1.4 so up to a 4k res - my amp supports HDMI 1.3a which apparently supports a res of 2560 x 1600 according to HDMI Specification.

Does anyone know if this is right? If so then it looks like I'll be good to go.

to be honest i'd be surprised if it does as it's quite uncommon for a monitor with HDMI to support 2560 x 1440 res

I have a 2560x1440 monitor and it does have HDMI, however it doesn't support 2560 via HDMI

so even if your receiver does, it is unlikely that the monitor will

edit: found a review on the sammy - it also does not support 2560 over HDMI, only via DVI-DL or DisplayPort

Thanks for the info, that's quite a shame.

Not sure if anyone knows if I can have my audio go through my GPU to my Receiver and Display port from my GPU to the Monitor. So I can have the high res and use HDMI audio at the same time? - Or I'm guessing this question should go to Sound City
