Hi, I am wanting to watch movies on my desktop PC in a different room to what my PC is in. This is what I plan to do.

Buy a 32" 1080p TV

Get a long HDMI cable and connect my PC to my TV - the HDMI cable will need to be 15 meters ( I know you can get them )

My PC is fitted with a HD5770 graphics card, which has a HDMI output.

Am I right in thinking HDMI carries video & audio ?

So will this idea work ( before I go out and buy a TV :) )

ALSO : I may at times use my TV as a second monitor, what would be the resolution of a 32" TV ?

Cheers in advance.

Yes it should work, but you can't just get any cheap HDMI cable. I don't exactly know why (dispersion? someone else can clarify) but you'll need a good cable after 10m.
Also, the resolution on a 1080p TV will be 1080p. Can't be anymore as there's only that many number of pixels physically.

So a 32" TV wont look great close up like a monitor does ?
