Will titans still last a bit?

Hi all!

Obviously none of us can see into the future but do you think titans will still be decent cards for high end stuff for the next 2+ years? Also how comes they retain such a high value still compared to for example 290's and 7990s? Finally not taking into account cost how do original titans fair against 780 ti's these days?

Cheers.

Compute performance is one of the reasons they cost more than comparable video cards.

I think the 780ti is faster than the titan, but not by much.

They will be fine for 18 months easily. If I had titans I wouldn't be searching for more vram for gta5 and watchdogs in 4k right now. I reckon gta5 is going to be a killer. 6.5gb+ vram on 4k with the max ingame menu AA I regrettably expect.

If it comes to it I'll pick up a couple of the cheapest 8gb vram cards available in December but only if gta5 wont run 4k on 780s without AA.

Depends what res your playing at, if your running 1080p they could last quite a while. And it also depends on what level gfx settings etc you are willing to play on, i dare say we could all get by on what we have for a while by lowering settings ;)

For cards that are, what? 18 months old now? They have held up very VERY well. I'd expect another 18 months out of them minimum tbh. Plenty of Vram backed by a healthy amount of grunt.

A solid investment for those that bought on launch, its not often you'll get ~3 years high end gaming from a GPU.

would you actually use Max AA on a 4k screen?

Witcher 3 will be a beast of a game to run, otherwise I imagine you will be fine for a while. Depends mostly on your resolution and what games you like to play!

Well I am hoping to get the 34inch 21:9 3440x1440 monitor and have been offered two titans for £250 a piece so I am just deciding whether it is good value!

£250 EACH?

Don't bite his hand off, throw £600 at him for the pair for good measure, shake his hand, kiss him, man hug, make him breakfast then kiss him again for good measure. Steal of the decade.

If the seller is female, use your god given gentlemanly powers of seduction to get them down to £200 a card :p
