So I currently have:

Graphics
Display adapter type ATI Radeon HD 5450
Total available graphics memory 3803 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 1024 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 2779 MB
Display adapter driver version 13.152.1.8000
Primary monitor resolution 1600x900
DirectX version DirectX 10
6gm RAM

if I upgrade to:

KFA2 GeForce GTX 750 OC "Low Profile" 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (75NGH8HX9KXZ)

Is this likely to significantly improve my gaming performance? Specifically The Elder Scrolls online?

Thank you.

Provided your CPU is something vaguely modern, you will see a MASSIVE increase going from a 5450 to a 750. To give you an idea, 3D Mark 2013 shows roughly a 10 fold increase in performance between the two (300-400 to 3000-4000), so this is very much like going from a moped to a Focus ST. :)

Brill! just what I wanted to hear haha
thank you!

No problems - pictures and before & after benchies are always appreciated around here, if you've asked the question there will be others along to find out the same info and your experience could be invaluable to them.

And the pictures? Well, we're all on this forum because we love technology and shiny new toys! :D

Here are my graphics in-game at the moment, any higher and it becomes basically unplayable (ish)

Will post after pics once I have changed graphics card.

If you want a concrete measure, install Afterburner or FRAPS and use it to show your framerate on screen. Then, when your new GPU is installed and set up, check the framerate again to see how much it's improved.

As said before, don't forget the pictures of the inside of the PC for us hardware nuts! (If you get the chance and fancy it, don't feel under pressure.) :)

P.S. Forgot to say earlier, welcome to the forum mate.

Will do :)

and cheers thank you

The 5450 is an entry level HTPC/Business Card, the GTX 750 is a newer mid-end card, so yes massive performance increase :)

Simply put your current card was never intended to be used for gaming.

YES! by a considerable amount. ;)

So I fitted the card today. I was SO shocked at how bloody dusty inside my pc was...

here's the dusty old one:
