Not that long ago i saw 9600k for just under £200, will we see this again anytime soon? Bare in mind it was for the bare chip only but for most of us we won't need the standard cooler anyway.

I'm still holding out on upgrading...

Well if its just to drop in and have as little hassle with replumbing then... suppose its ok but lets be honest here its crap.
Maybe save for a bit more and do the whole lot and move to a 3600x or 3700. Huge improvement.

I've been pondering on this since the new Ryzen release :(, i do want one but yes but for as little hassle as possible i see myself swaying more to the intel chip as its literally drop in and done.

On another hand, with AMD would i need to clear out old Intel drivers or will windows 10 do this automatically? I noticed when i did a reinstall that windows 10 basically reinstalled all the latest drivers for me without me having to do a thing which i thought was handy!

So.... no ones really answered my question haha.

Yes regardless of which cpu i get i will need a new mobo and ram to go with it but with the AMD side i will also need a new waterblock for my cpu as my current one is intel based. This means spending an extra £60-80 on a waterblock unless i can find a bracket to convert my intel block to AMD (Bitspower Summit EF) to save me a few ££.

Do you plan on upgrading your GPU any time soon? if so what to?

Edit: with in the time frame of owning the new CPU.

For this i was either thinking of picking up a cheap second 980ti to run sli as i use to run sli 680's and never had an issue with it or possibly a 1080ti when they come down abit more in price. Would not be purchasing anything above that though, i don't see the point and its not "value for money" in my opinion.
