Had 4Gb ram before, I recall windows saying there was a total of 6GB memorry reseerved (including swap file). Now I have upgraded to 8GB ram and windows is saying it has 9.3gb reserved memory.

Juse wondering will it be the same if I had 16gb ram, will it still reserve 17.xGB memory?

It will always need to use as much disk space as you have RAM for hibernation/low power sleep modes. As well as a bit more for paging.

Let Windows manage your memory and don't worry about it - 16GB RAM is cheap, 16GB of disk is even cheaper.
