Neighbours monitor has failed so now down to me to find replacement.
They currently have a 3-4 year old 19" widescreen HP LCD that was set to 1280x??

All the new 19" ones seem to be 1366x768 and not sure XP will support this?
The graphics are just onboard Intel as far as i can tell.

Hi there, if you can tell us what motherboard thet have (download and run CPU-Z) we can tell you the supported resolutions for the onboard graphics.

Also, if you can tell us what the monitor budget is, we'll be happy to suggest the best monitors for the price (that will work with the onboard graphics).

Hmm. OK. Will see what I can do.
Problem of course is the monitor is faulty and I only have an iMac and a laptop!
Might be able to get the details from the PC manufacturer. It is a HP, about 4 years old.

If just for application/desktop use I would say it will be fine, worst case scenario you can just run it at a lower resolution than the monitors native res.
