Got me thinking, how our generation love gaming, yet my dad who is 57 now is not into gaming and never was when he was younger, but me had a Amstrad CPC 484, NES, MD etc.

I dont want to think that I will be old and boring and not play awesome games come 30-40 years time, kinda strange to think but what could be around then, PS10, Nitendo Dolphoin, Xbox beast.

In 40 years i'll be 61. It'll take some major life changing circumstances for me to suddenly stop taking an interest.

I doubt I'll still be playing in 10 years to be honest. I see it as something I'll eventually grow out of.
I've been playing since I was 4, I decided when I was 6 that I was going to make games when I grew up.
I'm 23 now, I do make games and I love them more than ever.
I can't ever see myself growing out of it!

I'll have 5million gamer points by then :p

Ifyoull have 5 million, what will mcdaniel have  He'll ust have a gamerscore saying 'gave up counting, too 1337' or summit.

Yes i will be playing them still, providing my eyesight allows it.

I'll be 75 then. I'll probably look at the launch price of the Sony PlayStation 15 which will be something like £25,000 and think stuff that. I'll probably comment on how the PlayStation 3 was only £425. :D

Seriously though I think I will be playing the odd game but apart from a bit of Final Fantasy XXXII and Football Manager 2047 (which will allow you to manage your local school and pub teams) I don't think I'll be too bothered with gaming.

As long as my hands haven't seized up in a controller shape, or have become riddled with atheritis (spelling?) then I'd like to think I'll still be playing in 40 years, when I'm 75!

(bet I'll be TOTALLY poo at Boom Boom Rocket at that age! :D )

Who knows? every genre could have been bled dry by then. 10 years? maybe, but 40 I doubt it. Been gaming since I was around 5, now Im 19 and still loving it. a lot of games Im sick of since there its mostly the same old junk over and over that adds nothing new or interesting.

Last RPG I enjoyed and went back to play over and over was Final Fantasy 7. After playing that every other RPG I try to play just feels inferior and I have to force myself to sit through it hoping that it will improve, Im hoping Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey may change this 8 year drought for me.

So in 40 years I doubt I will be still playing games unless they invent some new interesting genres, but no matter how hard I try I cant think of anything that hasnt been done lol

I'm just wondering though what do people consider VR? I always think of it as having a feeling of actually being there (think Matrix) and not as some interactive simulation involving headgear. Thats why I Personally cannot see 'true' VR happening anytime within our lifetimes.
