Obviously only for those who don't use bitlocker, otherwise it's a must.

I'm thinking if the recovery environment info can be created on the c: drive, i would rather not have a hidden partition on my rig.

at the end of the day a hidden partition on the same drive is as vulnerable to errors/corruption as the main partition. What are your views?

I'd rather have a hidden partition, its to easy to delete files from the C:\
I think its a good idea!
Even better for the type of user that is most vulnerable to having system files changed, by some program or user error.

I'm just going to leave it alone. It's a drop in the ocean for a modern drive in terms of space and it's not as if it is going to be doing any harm.

Thanks for the comments guys, yeah i think i'm gonna leave it too, just hope it doesn't effect pagefile or MFT fragmentation later on when the drive starts to fill.

You prevent it from making it by creating a partition with the full capacity of the drive before going into Windows 7 setup.

Na my pc is fairly new, its a Core 2 Duo 2.6Ghz, 4GB ram, 160GB Sata Seagate Barricuda and an Ati 4770 512MB

Although next week I am buying a 500GB Seagate Barricuda Sata II
