Got me this recently:

Lenovo U350
SU2300
4gb DDR3
500gb Hydrid Drive
13.3"

Great little laptop for not much money. Speakers are a little poo, but it performs very well for what it is. I added the extra 2gb and the hydrid obviously, but the little CPU copes fine with HD content etc.

Speaking of Thinkpads - time for an update:

IMG00216-20110223-1520.jpg by sarawallen, on Flickr

So I've gone from a Dell Latitude D410 which I bought refurbished in 2006 (Pentium M 2.13ghz 1024mb 60gb/12.1" - which I upgraded by doubling the RAM and swapping to a 250gig HDD) to a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge (Core i3 380UM 1.33 GHz 4GB 500GB 13.3").

Overall happy so far, after a bit of faff with dodgy trackpad/point drivers) :)

Bit of an update, I needed something more powerful for games.

Picked up a HP 8710w on eBay:

Ridiculously fast (T9500, 4GB RAM, 7200rpm drive) and it's fantastic for games, thanks to Quadro FX3600M graphics with 512MB of DDR3 RAM.

Well mines the GX660R

msigx660ra.jpg

i5 2.53ghz (2.7ish turbo)
6GB Ram
2x500GB HDD
Ati HD5870 1GB
Good speakers (for a lappy at least)
1920x1080 res on a 15.6" (bit small but looks pretty)

It's a well awesome little lappy :D
Recently found out its got upgradable graphics slot too. Takes a HD6970 so seriously considering downsizing a bit on the desktop, beef this up with SSD+Graphics upgrade and start using as primary machine. Will see how much it fails at keeping up with my desktop and I think i'd miss the big raid.
