Wimbledon starts on Monday and the big story during the build up to this years event has been their ban of Russian and Belarusian players as well as the decision of the ATP and WTA to strip the tournament of ranking points. Some of the big names missing are Medvedev, Rublev, Khachanov, Sabalenka and Azarekna. Zverev's also missing, after snapping in half during the French, as is Little Miss Drama Queen who may or may not have an achilles injury.

Djokovic and Swiatek are unsurprisingly the top seeds and favourites for the second slam running and Serena returns after an entire year out. Murray's also back after skipping the French although there are doubts about his fitness after he picked up an injury during his final loss in Stuttgart to Berrettini.

No Federer in this year's Wimbledon?
Not back until September at the earliest.

Is any bookie taking bets on Raducanu to collapse like a sack of spuds by the second set?
Highly likely to happen, she's clearly not learnt to take time off when injured and it sounds like she's rushing back. She should sack off the grass court season and get herself fit for the hard court season.

Only just started watching but she seems to have taken a noticeable amount of power off her ground strokes in favour of better placement. Not sure if that's nerves, coaching or an attempt to keep her body in one piece.

Hurhacz out in 5 sets.

Edit: Drop shot seems to be the key, Raducanu looks hesitant every time she has to move forward.

Murray up next against Isner. His serve and return will be the most important aspect of this game, fitness won't really come in to it.

Should she not take a good 3 months off and recover properly rather than keep hitting the same occurring issue.
Nah, she might as well quit tbh. She'll never win another tournament in her life so what's the point in continuing? :o

Joking aside, if she got through her two games unscathed then a week or two off before hitting America to grind the hard court season would be her best bet.

People are being very harsh on someone who has achieved far more then Murray did at her age.
I think it's just the UK mentality tbh, far easier for people to relate to losers than winners.

Have a look at the threads on here before Murray started winning years ago, comment after comment about how he was a loser that would never amount to anything :o

Edit: Isners 37? Thought he was still in his 20s.

I hear she's been through 3 coaches in 10 months. I don't think that's a particularly positive sign. I know she's only 19 and potentially has another 2 decades of professional tennis in her life.
That won't have helped. In an ideal world, her first coach would've been happy to travel around with her but he wanted to stay at home to coach his kid so she's not had any consistency in her tennis life since the US Open.
