First time I have ever made the trip to SW19, but I'm so glad I did. My girlfriend loves tennis and she has been about 7 years in a row, so this time...it was my turn. Spent most of the day watching the action on Centre Court as thats what I was there for. Astounded at the view we got by camping over night and here are a few of my favourite photos from what was a really fantastic day.

May I add I don't ever take people shots normally and this was a first for me in so many ways, really enjoyed it though.

First up, Blake vs. Mirnyi...Blake lost in 5 sets:

Thanks for looking, comments always welcome.

They're all amazing shots! Nice one! Funnily enough I work in Wimbledon, it's been a nightmare on the trains since the tennis has been on. However, to balance it up there are some nice girls in white skirts walking about. :D

Thanks for the comment. When we started queueing on Thursday at 4pm we were 45/46 in the queue...come 5.30am Frdiay over 650 people were lining the streets!

Cool shots :) You got really close up to the players. Any wider shots of the over all game?

what kit did you get away with using?

Great shots by the way

70-200 on the 350d, no questions asked. Some of the pro's right in front of us...oh my!!

Unfortunately no wider shots as I only took the 70-200 along. It was all about the tennis for me :)

Great photos, I might've seen you as I've watched quite a bit (on the telly :p) :D

Hehee yeah, Sharapova's opponent went running towards the edge through momentum and ended up leaning on one of them 300 Ls, the photographer looked a little nervous :D

good stuff Tom, must be difficult to get the timing right :)

Its not a subject I think I will shoot a lot of, but from watching the way the pro's seem to do it they all seem to shoot at exactly the same tenth of a second in their shot. Its a weird noise hearing 20 pro body lens do a triple click everytime a player hits a ball.

The biggest problem I found was the camera kept dropping focus on the player and picking up the grin of someone in the crowd.
