Hi all,

I am having yet more problems with my pc.

I am getting frame rate drops when moving the Corsair mouse around. This isn't just in games but on the desktop and for example YouTube video.

I have clean installed the latest graphics driver and reinstalled the mouse and keyboard software and drivers.

I have tried different usb ports for both the devices.

If I turn the polling rate down to 125 from 1000 it seems better however I would like the polling rate to be higher to match my faster monitor setup (144hz 4ms)
If I use the Logitech mouse I don't get the problem, I think it is a 125hz polling rate.

Things that I think have changed are the bios which was updated because of the graphics problems I was having. I did a clean installed of Windows not that long ago. I had to reinstall the thunderbolt firmware recently, I am not sure if this coincides with the mouse problem. Also I got the creators updated recently too.

In device manager I seem to have something strange with an audio driver that keeps coming back but is disabled.

Things I think I am going to try next are removed killer network stuff. Remove audio stuff. Check windows mouse precision thing.

Has anyone come across this problem?
Is there anything else worth checking?
Should I just clean install Windows?

I am getting pretty fed up with the constant problems with my pc now, I just want to play some games without lag and frame rate problems.

And help is appreciated thanks.

System spec,

Cpu: i7 6700k @4.6
Mobo: Gigabyte z170x gaming g1
Gpu: 2x R9 290x
Ram: 16gb gskill trident z 3200
Keyboard: Corsair k70 rgb
Mouse: Corsair m65 rgb and Logitech mx510
Cooling: custom loop

I did a system restore to the oldest one available and no more lag.

I think I did find that the win 10 driver installation thing was turned on.

It might have been the chip set driver or graphics driver. Going to try bringing the graphics driver up to date later and see if it still works.

I re-installed the chip set driver because I had a fault with the thunderbolt firmware, but I only realised that it was the firmware after I had done the chip set. I wouldn't have thought you could install the chip set drivers twice but maybe you can.

I can't think what else it could be the other things like the creators update and ghost recon wildlands that were installed were reinstalled without a problem.

I had this exact same issue, cpu usage would spike when moving the mouse. Rolled back the update and its been fine since.
