Trying to upgrade from 8.1 to 10 and after downloading it goes through the install & then stops with the message 4 updates failed to instal. No failed installs showing in update history apart from win 10 pro. Any ideas get over this problem.

If I install from disk will it still activate. As i understood it you had to upgrade and activate before you could install from disk.
I did once install from disk and after 3 or 4 days it still hadn't activated and I had to log into every time I used it. I tried removing the log in screen but I still had to log in.

I tried using an iso it came up with enter key which I entered my win 8.1 key which it accepted. Then it asked to select whether to keep apps or clean install. the third option was blocked. No sign of 'upgrade'.

Success at last.
Tried as suggested to run setup from ISO but it said put in other 64x disk. It was 64 bit I download. So tried download again & once downloaded selected upgrade instead of save. It then downloaded again (not sure why, may have because I selected Pro). Once it was downloaded it went to installing & away we went. All running, no logging in & appears to be activated.
Thanks to you both for your help.
