Win 10 Notification Bar

Not a huge issue but i get a number to state i have say 8 notifications but when i click on it the list is empty.

Been like this for a few weeks and can find nothing to fix.

Just wondered if anyone has or had this issue and if there is a fix at all?

Have all the latest Win10 updates.

I've had this on a brand new install that was an hour old and nothing else installed except a few drivers. It's just windows 10 being windows 10.

You could double check Settings>Privacy>Notifications and make sure everything is On which it probably is??

Just checked this and for some strange reason the 'Choose which apps can access your notifications' list is empty.....

That would be normal and shouldn't effect notifications showing in the bar.

You sir are an absolute genius, just enabled background apps and restarted and all back to normal.

I must have turned this feature off at some point.

can the notification bar be fully disabled, i get all sorts of rubbish popping up, from adverts to general info i have no use for.
and all this happens when i am watching films

I would recommend reading this post https://www.thewindowsclub.com/notifications-missing-from-action-center and then doing the reverse by turning off background apps - Mine wasn't reporting when i wanted it to which is clearly what you are after.
