Does anyone know what this is and how to stop it? It seems to be eating all my internet bandwidth.

I'm on the latest creators update just freshly installed yesterday.

Thanks.

Check that P2P sharing of updates isn't enabled in the advanced options.

Windows update is basically a law to itself though and will do stuff at will eating up bandwidth or a lot of CPU/IO, etc. from time to time.

You can set your Ethernet connection to metered on creators edition. That should stop Windows auto updating in the background

Only stops like 80-90% of the activity - for some reason some stuff still gets pushed through unless you go all out with disabling services and policy editing, etc.

Also MS have for some reason limited what you can and can't set as metered in 10 unlike 8 - unless its 110% a mobile connection it often won't let you set it to metered. Some of my USB dongles for instance don't show up in a way Windows 10 recognises as a wireless connection and won't let them be set to metered.

There is a registry change you can do to force ethernet connections to be metered but it got reset last feature update I did on 10 :s

Weird can't set it on mine - though the only ethernet connection I have on a Windows 10 setup at the moment is via a USB-C hub so might make a difference. Then again none of my tablets have been working right since the creator's update anyhow.

Yeah creators destroyed my host but my VM's generally seem to be ok except the address tabs on chrome disappear. Had to install a dark theme on chrome to see them

Well I've downloaded creators update and delivery optimization is using all the bandwidth again and guess what folks it seems that the option to turn it off is GONE! Online gaming is totally impossible. I've tried to limit the bandwidth it uses to 5% but it just ignores it.

I think Windows 7 or Linux beckons. Sick of feeling powerless with this OS.
