Hi All,

OK I shouldn't probably be doing this with hangover but how on earth do I get "This PC", "Network" and "Control Panel" icons appear on the taskbar in Win10!!!

I've got them on my desktop and you'd like to think it was a simple as "right click, pin to taskbar" but that would just be too easy ;)

Cheers

Well This PC and Control Panel are two entities which then become the parents of everything below them. In Win10, File Explorer = This PC (when you switch Quick Access to This PC in the View options).

Open This PC, right click the taskbar icon and pin it. Open Control Panel, right click the taskbar icon and pin it.

From here on you can pin further child windows to either parent. Network and Sharing centre will be pinned under Control panel, for example, and This PC/Drives/Folders etc under File Explorer.

My layout:

Most of my computering is done via the pinned File Explorer and Control Panel items. Everything else is via Classic Shell. The stock start menu is /still/ garbage.

Cause I do not like it. Since windows 7 I have turned it off immediately. For me the task bar is for actively running programs - nothing else.
