Win 10 video playback stops working after a few minutes

Slightly odd... Was watching YouTube videos, and all of a sudden the video froze and wouldn't play any further, this is the same for videos on other sites, in different browsers, and videos saved to the machine (of various formats) - they open, show the first frame, but don't play.

Restarted the machine and all was well for about 5 minutes, then it happened again.

Rinse and repeat a 3rd time...

Windows 10 Pro 64
i7 2700K
P8Z68-V Pro
4x 4GB Vengeance PC3-12800U
2x R9 390 Tri-X 8GB CFX
Samsung 830 256GB SSD

Ive had issues with the SSD before (so I thought) but it seems fine now after a new Windows install (a few months ago)
 
If you open up Task Manager, are there any strange background processes hogging resources?

I remember reading someone having similar issues and there was something like audiodg.exe messing things up.
 
Went off to have a lay down for an hour or so, came back, re-started the PC again, and its been fine for the past half an hour so far... Very strange!
 
Nope it has happened another 10 or so times, each time temporarily fixed with a reboot... Cant see anything in the event log which could be related, or in task manager... :(
