Behind you... Naked!
Argh, this Windows 11 is seriously annoying the nipples off me.

It first looked nice, the icons are lokking a little bit nicer than the rotten Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 Icons, and sure, the way it works took a tiny bit of thinking, but nothing that was not expected in a new version of Windows.

I liked the fact that Earlier versions of Windows 10 I could use NETPLWIZ to get rid of the password requeting, I hated the later Windows 10 where I had to add a passcode and so thankfully I can still use the earlier versions and keep that little nugget.

But then it goes into Hibernation more and does not actually shut down, that got on my bloody wick right from the start because it would randomly take ages to start up??

The came Bluetooth... I chucked my little earphones onto my head and got them connected and the bloody thing still plays through the Laptop speaker, no matter whether I have the earphones or the speakers setup to play.

The is the final straw for me...

Windows is gettign worse and worse now, and for me, the bets version that came out from these people, was Windows 7 and I will give a huge nod to Windows 10 reliability, but only early versions, they have changed it too much and the later versions are not as nice in so many ways.

Even with versions of Linux, KDE has got to the point where is just rotten bloatware and Gnome with the unity junk has destroyed that for me, so I am now using Cinnamon and frankly. there is very little Windows software that I use that I cannot either get working under Linux, or get a Linux equivalent for, and even most games play just fine under Linux these days too.

I think I am done with Windows. It is simply not a nice OS to use anymore.

So, tonight, I have gone back to an early release Windows 10 on my Main PC and if that changes, then Im moving away from Windows for good.

Yeah, its just a rant and Im in a stinking mood so what?

1. hibernation /shutdown (never turning off) was in W10 and has not changed - but you can turn it off in settings same as W10
2. once connected to BT change default sound device to headphones - seems standard practice, once you do this once it will do this automatically going forward (connects & switches)
3. NetplWiz can still be used https://howto.thelead82.com/guide/5-simple-ways-to-bypass-windows-11-password

so your rant, is about stuff that hasn't changed from Windows 10, whilst im not a ms fanboy (far from it) as i run Linux everywhere your issues are not issues as as these are the exact same as windows 10.

If he is playing games and browsing the same few Web sites like 95% of people uses a little care and has a up to date av installed is there that much risk?

Windows 10 (and 11) itself is a security risk IMO - constant churn of new serious vulnerabilities found and not just because hackers are being clever, etc. but stuff which should never have been a problem in the first place - so there is almost certainly more vulnerabilities, which shouldn't be vulnerabilities, which haven't been discovered yet.

It is funny how people got all up in arms about the Intel security vulnerabilities but these are for the most part much more useful to a would be attacker against the average desktop target yet there is barely a murmur from users.

1. Granted I thought it was not doing it, but I just checked it now and it definitely did, so Im a plonker there

2. No, the BT is still not working. Or rather it does eem to be, but no matter whether I select the Headphones OR the Speakers, the speakers are always playing.
It is STILL doling that now.

3. Netplwiz still exists yes, but I use it to bypass my password on log in... Where is that option now?

I can get at gredentials, and I can up the security by having CTRL-ALT-DEL but thats NOT what I want.. I want to log in wirthout being asked my password.

That I cannot, do, or, to be more honest, that I dont know how to do on Windows 11 ( or indeed on later versions of Windows 10 )

So, now, as I said, I am comparing it to ealrier versions of Windows 10. I did state that some of the later stuff was also cruddy on Windows 10 compared to earlier versions, and these are subtle, maybe but they make such a difference

Also, I am looking at the version that I am using on the Main PC and its 2016 LTSB - This is by far, the BEST version of Windows 10 that I have.

And yeah, right now, I am still correct on 2 of those points and so for now, my whingy childish dummy spitting still stands.

I use NOD32 and I go onto some sick and vile sites that frankly make teh devil spew, and I have done this for years. I have NEVER had any form of infection or anything, and given that I do try my best to get hem, just to push NOD32... I am amazed that I simply dont!

As far as I am conccerned, Virus are simply not an issue for me as I just dont get them!

Magic words spoken while holding the wooden desk of course... My next post wil be how do I get rid of viruses!!!

Option two in the link above

In regedit go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device
and change the value to zero and the option will reappear.
