Win 11 multiple desktops

I don't understand what the multiple desktops icon is for on the win 11 taskbar. I see what it does but not sure why anyone would want it?
ooh. I like that.
I've multiple monitors setup. Now I can effectively have 12 screens.. 6 at a time that I can switch over in one click.

Really depends on how you use a PC. Example for multiple desktops, have one with certain apps open for personal use, and another with all work related things on it. Instead of trying to organise everything on a single taskbar trying to keep track what's personal and what's work, with multiple desktops you can switch between the two.

Of course it's not for everyone, I usually have minimal windows open anyway so it doesn't benefit me. But for those who have a lot of windows open, it can help organise things.

It's something that has been around on other OS for a while and they finally brought it over.

It was aimed at having say a Desktop for gaming, 'personal' and work with different things on each but it's not something that seems to have taken off on Windows due to everyone being used to the same desktop for everything or across multiple monitors.

I've never bothered with multiple desktops as I do not have a use for them.

My main PC is for gaming and browsing then I have a Lenovo laptop provided by my work for everything else.
