WIN 2k to XP...Advice needed...

We are about to move from Windows 2k to Windows XP at work and was wondering if there were any helpful solutions to any known problems when migrating over?

We will only be running a basic system of Lotus Notes and Some MS Applications to begin with.

Any advice is grately appreciated.

You could try running the XP compatibility checker from Microsoft.

I would think fine, if you are upgrading might be worth checking that you are using media with SP2 builtin as it appears to contain more drivers as standard.

In a business environment with the sort of programs you are running I have to ask why change?

Its not my choice. Those are just the basic programs. The fun will be when they branch out to the rest of the applications.

I just have to fix it when it goes wrong

Are you just upgrading on or two PCs to begin with and testing them for a couple of days/weeks or just upgrading them one by one and seeing how it goes?

We have upgraded just under a hundred to begin with which we have tested on. But are rolling out 1000 users next week.

Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this before the troubles start poping up.

That must be costing a fortune, if I ran the company I would stick with 2K to save the money.

Again...not my company nor money. We dont currently have any major problems with using 2k but they dont listen.

What can you do huh
